It is important to remember that cat litter is intended for cats, and the litter they like is the appropriate one. If a cat doesn't like the litter chosen for it, it usually shows the following behaviors: scratching the litter tray, standing outside the litter tray or jumping out quickly after entering, and "defecating" directly next to the litter tray.
